So, it’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been quite busy working on several projects. Some apps, others small tools.
Here’s a quick post on what’s new.
ScanBizCards for Windows Phone has been released (a while now actually). It is the WP7 version of a top 25 iPhone business application that, as the name suggests, scans business cards. Any feedback would be great!
There is also a new tool released for windows phone users. If you’re like me, you’ve probably restored your windows phone at least one or twice. When one restores a windows phone to factory settings, the counter for the number of photos taken on the phone resets itself to zero… So? Well, this counter is responsible for the naming of photos in the camera roll. And once it resets, if you give your Windows Phone the same name as before and attempt to syncing your photos with Zune, you will end up with duplicate names such as “WP_100.jpg” and “WP_100 (1).jpg”. As a consequence, you lose the chronological order the file names previously offer.
What the tool does is enumerate through your photos in a folder, checks the actual date the photo was taken (read the meta data), and then renames the photos accordingly. This way, your oldest photo is named “WP_0000.jpg” and your newest will have the highest number (all duplicate names fixed). Try it out, and let me know.
PS – I have no idea why I uploaded the code to codeplex. I will move it to git soon.Posted in Windows Phone | 1 Comment »
